How much does the Lord love us? I have often wondered this . Tonight I got my answer . I was reading John 15 vs 9 where Jesus says "As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you" . Then it hit me! We believe that Jesus was fully God and man at the same time when He spoke this . We also believe the God is three in one, three person (Father, Spirit, and Son) and yet One God . So when Jesus said this, what He was saying was this, "The Father loves me and the Father is God . I am His Son and I am God and together we are one . Therefore as much as God the Father loves Me, God the Son, this is how much I love you" . Do you see it yet?? Let me put it another way: As much as God loves Himself, is how much He loves us . Yup, you read that right . God loves us as much as He loves Himself! What other God is crazy like that? What other God is like that? There is none! I have been told all my life that God loves me . But never has anyone come up to me and said "God loves you as much as He loves Himself" . That is the depth of His love . A depth we can not possibly understand or fully comprehend, but that doesn't make it any less true! He loves us! He loves us as much as He loves Himself . This is His radical, amazing and crazy love! This is the heart of the Gospel. This is the good news. Amazing!
